Register now for 2022 High Desert Speaker Series
Oregon Natural Desert Association’s 2022 High Desert Speaker Series kicks off on Tuesday, February 15 with a discussion with athlete, documentary filmmaker and environmental advocate Faith E. Briggs about what it means to be a conservationist. The event series continues on Tuesday, March 15 when Ellen Bishop, an author, photographer, naturalist and geologist specializing in terranes of the Pacific Northwest, will guide people through how to read the details in the treasured landscapes of eastern Oregon. On Tuesday, April 19 wildlife biologist and a past National Geographic Adventurer of the Year Arthur Middleton will cover the basic ecology of wildlife migrations in the western United States.
“ONDA loves bringing the sights, sounds and science of the high desert to people to help them connect with this vast, fragile, and astonishingly wild place,” said Karina Diaz, ONDA’s development coordinator, “Bring your curiosity!”
This lecture series introduces and celebrates the natural wonders of the sagebrush steppe that covers Oregon’s drier east side and invites people to get involved in protecting this exceptional natural landscape. Each of the three talks in the series, which runs from February 15 to April 19, will take place virtually, which allows anyone across Oregon and beyond to participate.
